This Privacy Policy describes how the Valto application ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use it. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This document explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights.
01 Information We Do Not Collect
Valto does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Specifically:
- No name, email address, or account credentials
- No device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, etc.)
- No location data
- No camera or microphone access
- No contacts or calendar data
- No usage analytics or crash reporting sent to us
02 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The app stores the following data exclusively on your device:
- User preference — your selected base currency (e.g., RUB). Saved via Android DataStore and never leaves the device.
- Cached exchange rates — recent rate data saved in a local Room database to allow offline viewing and reduce redundant network requests. This data contains only publicly available financial figures (currency codes, rates, and dates) — no personal information.
You can clear this data at any time through your device's app settings:
Settings → Apps → Valto → Clear Data
03 Network Requests & Third-Party Data Sources
To display exchange rates, the app fetches publicly available financial data from the following third-party services:
- Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.app) — a free, open-source currency data service backed by the European Central Bank. No personal data is sent in these requests.
- Central Bank of Russia (CBR) (cbr.ru) — official daily and historical exchange rate data for the Russian Ruble. No personal data is sent in these requests.
These requests contain only the parameters needed to retrieve rate data (currency codes, date ranges). Your IP address may be visible to these services as part of standard internet communication; please refer to their own privacy policies for details.
04 No Third-Party Advertising or Analytics
Valto does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase, Google Analytics, Crashlytics), or social media trackers. No data is shared with any third party beyond the network requests described in Section 03.
05 Android Permissions
The app requires no special Android permissions. Internet connectivity is used solely to fetch publicly available exchange rate data as described above.
06 Children's Privacy
Valto does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app contains no content directed at children and collects no personal data from any user.
07 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
